This laser diode module emits a small beam of red light (650nM). The focus can not be adjusted. It is designed for 3-3.5V operation, 30 mA maximum, for instance two AA batteries. Red wire = positive, blue wire = negative. Do not connect the metal case, for it is connected to the positive side of the laser, *after* the 33 Ohm resistor. Or feed it a constant current of 25 mA. I have no manufacturer data, and I do not know whether this module has been used or what the remaining life time will be. My supplier says it is a 5mW laser, but I think that is a bit optimistic. Still, for safety you must assume that this is a class 2 laser. The documentation link provides some hookup suggestions. But still: be careful with this item!
