This an integrated receiver module for IR light modulated at 36.7 kHz. This frequency is a compromis between the two frequencies (36 and 38 kHz) often used by IR remote controls. This receiver will receive both frequencies fairly well, but of course less optimal than a receiver for the exact frequency used by the protocol.
