This is a 2-forward / 1-backward digital signal isolator. Both sides are galvanically isolated and can use different voltages in the range 2.7V-5.5V. Typical use is galvanic isolation of an RS-485 circuit.
The PCB-12 is meant for a 28-pin chips, but ignoring 12 pads it can be used to use this chip in a DIP socket, breadboard, etc.
