This chip is a preamplifier and decoder for IR remote control receiver. Its centre ferquency can be adjusted from 30 to 60 kHz. An external IR foto diode must be added.
This chip is in a SIP housing. I do not recommend to use it in a socket. If you still want to use a socket you could cut a piece from a CON-CUP32.
