This the NXP LPC1114 Cortex M0 microcontroller in DIP package. This chip has 32 Kb Flash, 4 Kb RAM (not 8Kb!), UART, I2C, SPI, 32bit timers, etc.
This chip is in a DIP housing. Suitable sockets are DIP-28W-L-(5) (low-cost, flat pins).
DIP-ZIF28W is a ZIF socket that could be used with this chip.
